Hola!  This week was filled with many exciting songs and adventures!  We completed our "Spider" unit and will be doing lots of fun activities about Halloween next week.  Parent/Teacher conferences were a huge success!!  Our kindergarten class had 100% turnout for conferences!!  Whoo!  Hoo!!  Thank you all for coming! It was wonderful having the opportunity to visit with each family to share all of the wonderful things your children have learned since the first day of school.  It's hard to believe that this coming Thursday we will have been in kindergarten for 50 days!  Wow!

Below you will find our newsletter for this week.
Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping by!!

Whew!  What an amazing week we had in kindergarten!  We learned so many new facts about spiders.  We learned that the smallest spider is the size as a grain of sand and the largest (the goliath tarantula) is the size of a dinner plate!
Did you know a jumping spider can jump 20 times it's length.
If your child could jump that far they'd be able to jump 80 feet.  Wow!!

OOOOh!  Spiders!!
What do you know about spiders?  Well, our kindergarten class knows a lot about these amazing creatures!  On Tuesday we brainstormed all of the things we knew about spiders.  Mrs. McLaren wrote each sentence on a colored circles.  Later in the day we added heads and legs to our spider bodies.  Below are pictures of our "What I Know About Spiders..." web.  Wowie, wow, wow!!

Here is a close up of one of our spiders!!

"Cats"
Here are just a few of cats from our project with our 3rd grade buddies.  Each is so different.  The eye color was determined by if the child had a cat at home or not.  If they liked bumble gum better than lollipops their cats were given teeth.  They are so creative!  I love it!
Didn't they turn out cute?
